I have never started a thread before but I had a simple question do you believe that based on the acts Trump is accused of committing that he should be charged with treason? It seems to me that if Trump indeed attempted to change votes in elections (it obviously would need to be proven) and improperly gave away secrets to foreigners (also would have to be proven) that his real crime is treason. Or in the alternative do you believe that Trump could be convicted of the crimes he is accused but not have committed treason?
@quackquack saidI believe he conspired with others to stay in power by attempting to skew and then void, a legitimate election result, and that this, if proven, amounts to sedition.

@quackquack saidTrumps crime is being against the washington establishment, both dem and repub.

@quackquack
At least it shows just how careless Trump was with classified docs, docs like nuke capabilities of other countries, serious stuff.
Don't know how they would prove treason though. That judge Cannon may take it on herself to 'help' Trump, she was censured for doing that last time and it is a shame she got selected again for a trial against the person who put her in office.
@sonhouse saidhave you, or anyone seen these documents?

@mott-the-hoople saidWhat happened to "comply with law enforcement." ? Is that only for petty drug use offenders?

Im going to try your excuse next time. Sorry officer I was speeding but I'm also against the establishment so that's my real crime.
@wildgrass saidyou have been duped by bidens doj/fbi.

Trump was complying with nara, they were in negotiations ..out of the blue with no warning bidens fbi raids Trump and supposedly found documents, no one has seen these documents.
nara did not assist Trump with document removal as the had with previous presidents, but they knew of specific documents...hmmm
but you as well as the majority knowv what this is all about, it is a shame you support such actions...you must be a very lowlife person
@quackquack saidTrump isn't being charged with treason, so until there's evidence Trump shared classified docs with a foreign agent, I see no reason to discuss treason.
Is that because you don't believe in the death penalty or because the crimes Trump is accused of don't constitute treason?

Trump previously gave classified intel to Russian diplomates at the White House. This is significant because there's also evidence Trump shared the documents he took to Mar-A-Lago with people who don't have the security clearance to view them. If any of those people turn out to be foreign agents then there's a case for treason.
@quackquack saidI do not know what the law is in such a case, but even if the law allowed a death sentence, I would not be in favour of it in Trump's case because it would make of him a martyr in the eyes of his supporters.

@vivify saidI have a strong suspicion, which will probably never be proven in his lifetime, that he is nowhere near as rich as he pretends to be, that he is heavily in debt (most likely to some Russian oligarch(s)), and that he hoped and intended to sell or trade classified documents for debt relief. It would be very hard to prove intent, and I doubt the govt would even try to prove that, given that mere possession is already a felony and stands a much higher chance of success in court. Never mind that Biden and Pence also had classified documents; they had nowhere near the quantity, did not know they had them, and complied with requests/demands to turn them over. Trump knew very well he had them, stored them in unsecured locations, and refused to turn them over until his place was searched under warrant; that's a whole nother deal. I'm no legal expert, I don't know whether that counts as treasonous as defined by law, but it is certainly more serious than seriously stupid. Keeping boxes and boxes of classified material in a bathroom cannot be considered anything but criminally negligent and a breach of national security.
Trump isn't being charged with treason, so until there's evidence Trump shared classified docs with a foreign agent, I so no reason to discuss treason.

So biden should be impeached right now?
