US trade court blocks Trump's sweeping tariffs. What happens now?

A US federal court has blocked President Donald Trump's sweeping global trade tariffs, in a major blow to a key component of his economic policies.
The Court of International Trade ruled that an emergency law invoked by the White House did not give the president unilateral authority to impose tariffs on nearly every one of the world's countries.
The New York-based court said the US Constitution gave Congress exclusive powers to regulate commerce with other nations, and that this was not superseded by the president's remit to safeguard the economy.
Lets hear it from AverageJoe, Cliff, Metal Brain and Raj now that you guys are staring defeat.... How much fear and panic was caused by these tariffs and the constant flip-flopping?
@congruent saidMAGA has shown again and again that they really don't care about the rule of law and the Constitution as long as Daddy Donald is there to hold their hands.

Donald won't care too. He's never been a person that cares about the law.

To be honest, I dont engage in discussions about Trump.. whether he is good or evil, I really do not care. If people are influenced by him then that is their problem. Now discussions about issues raised by Trump [or any other leader], these are current affairs topics and Yes .. I will contribute to those. Also I have yet to see anyone around here saying or implying "If Trump says xyz, than thats good enough for me".
Didn't someone explain the legalese to MAGA/Trumpettes? You cannot misuse the law or bypass congress.
In the 2025 case V.O.S. Selections, Inc. v. United States, the U.S. Court of International Trade ruled that President Donald Trump exceeded his authority under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) when imposing sweeping global tariffs. The court determined that the trade deficit cited did not meet the legal standard of an "unusual and extraordinary threat," and emphasized that Congress holds the authority to regulate foreign commerce, not the president.
This ruling underscores the constitutional limits on executive power in trade policy and reinforces the role of Congress in regulating commerce.

The reversal lets Trump continue with the work that he promised he would do. Look it all up, internet covered up with it. Be aware how many different avenues he would have to get this done. National security, etc. etc. you name it.
At your request, you have heard from AvJoe.
Trump is a winner, guys.

The administration cannot be above congress, the judiciary or the Supreme Court.
Karoline Leavitt was boasting to Trump News Network (Fox News), that they can arrest Supreme Court Justices.
Karoline Leavitt Boasts Trump Wouldn’t Hesitate to Arrest SCOTUS Justices
The White House press secretary said “anyone who is breaking the law or obstructing federal law enforcement officials” is subject to prosecution.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt suggested the Trump administration would consider arresting high-ranking judges—including Supreme Court justices—at a press briefing Monday.
“As you guys look at other judges, would you ever arrest somebody higher up on the judicial food chain, like a federal judge or even a Supreme Court justice?” Fox News reporter Peter Doocy asked.
Leavitt said no judge is safe from the administration’s crackdown on the judiciary.
“Anyone who is breaking the law or obstructing federal law enforcement officials is putting themselves at risk of being prosecuted, absolutely,” she said.

So here is a link showing that he just made a big decision helping our country by standing up to Xi Well, I’ll be darn. The stock market went down.
Funny, you walk back your hateful comments just like him.
So let me get this straight, you would rather he not do anything that would cause the stock market to move in one direction or another. So that would mean you do not want him to do anything. We are just trying to get the thinking of liberals.

US judge allows states' lawsuit against DOGE to proceed
(Reuters) - A U.S. judge on Tuesday allowed a group of 14 states to move ahead with a lawsuit challenging Elon Musk's efforts to slash federal spending as the head of President Donald Trump's new government efficiency agency, rejecting the Trump administration's effort to dismiss the case.
U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan, however, dismissed the states' claims against Trump himself, saying her court would not try to interfere with "the performance of his official duties" as president.
