Here is an older article from RT I read first and it is very good.

Since there is a lot of anti Russia bias I found this as well and it is recent. Just thought I would rule out Russian propaganda for the democrat conspiracy theorists.

If the flu was displaced or has actually disappeared for whatever reason why are people still taking flu vaccines? What good are they with no flu this winter? Is it to make vaccine makers money despite doing you no good at all?
Are flu cases being counted as C19 cases? That would explain a lot. The implications are sobering though. All of that panic for nothing.
What is your theory?
@metal-brain saidI think the explanation is masking, social distancing and diligent hand hygiene.

Because of the washing of hands, social distancing, the wearing of masks, kids staying home from school (major cause of flu and cold distribution) and general lockdowns (far fewer people getting together), the flu can’t spread as fast as it once did. It is there though.
The flu mutates very fast. So, by having the latest flu-jabs, the body has the best chance of fending off newer strains if they get passed on.
Flu deaths aren’t counted as Corona deaths.
There are WAY fewer flu deaths and obviously it’s not report-worthy.
If you phone your local health organisation they can give you flu statistics.
In the Netherlands only risk-groups get flu-jabs.
If you have flu or cold like symptoms you go to a corona test-street and get tested. If positive, you have corona. If negative, you’ve caught something else.
There’s no conspiracy, it’s all open data (indeed, because of a data leak here in the Netherlands the data’s more open than it should be... but that’s a whole other issue for a whole other thread).
You really are paranoid, aren’t you?
@wildgrass saidI object to your perfectly reasonable and obvious observation.
I think the explanation is masking, social distancing and diligent hand hygiene.
@metal-brain saidWithout reading what wildgrass and shav have posted, where do you think flu has gone, just to be on the safe side I still went for my flu jag last year and I’m going for my covid jag this afternoon.

@wildgrass saidAre you claiming those 3 things eradicated the flu while SARS2 infection rates skyrocketed? Why no news reports claiming the flu pandemic is over? Where are the claims of victory and praise for masking, social distancing and diligent hand hygiene?
I think the explanation is masking, social distancing and diligent hand hygiene.
Isn't it more likely flu cases are being counted as C19 cases?

There are 300k to 700k deaths from complications to influenza every year world wide. That's been happening since the flu has been around...The flu has killed a crap ton of people....
@shavixmir saidBut the Netherlands went without mandatory mask wearing for a long time during the pandemic. There is also Sweden. Do they have flu cases?

"If you have flu or cold like symptoms you go to a corona test-street and get tested. If positive, you have corona. If negative, you’ve caught something else."
So there is no test for the flu to verify it is the flu? All you know is it is something else? That doesn't sound very scientific. What if you have a false negative? What kind of tests are you talking about? PCR tests? They are known to be unreliable.
Belgium is next to the Netherlands and they have a high C19 rate per capita. Do they have the flu as well? If not, how do you explain that?
edit: Even governor Whitmer here in MI (who repeatedly said she listens to the science) says school children are less likely to spread the SARS2 virus and is for opening schools. That is a negligible factor.
@badradger saidAs good an explanation as any of the other posters so far. Kind of sad.
@Metal-Brain I think it flu off.
Why is the flu shot still being recommended if there is no flu? Maybe we should all take smallpox vaccines (sarcasm) as well.
I think critical thinking skills are endangered today. Almost nobody seems to have them.
