You are missing the point.

One [the Catholic priests], know they are doing something wrong by sexual molestation, or burning of witches. They know it is wrong and hence they will stop or be condemned for it, by their peers.

The other [Muslims], believe they are doing to right thing to kill unbelievers. It is commanded in the Quran to do this. They will not stop neither can so-called moderate Muslims condemn them. They will continue killing unbelievers, and at an increasing rate.

I hope you understand the difference. All religions cannot be put on equal footing. If you do it means you do not understand religion neither have you studied any religion.

So right there we see the problem, we see your blindspot.

Because you cant specifically see a direct injunction by Christ to kill Muslims therefore it never could have happened. Yet most western nations from the time of the crusades till now, while purporting to be Christian nations have been killing Muslims without a second's thought. For centuries from the Crusades till Iraq and Afghanistan they have used the argument that Muslims are the great evil to justify any program of murder and mayhem on Muslim peoples. Blame your enemy of what you do.

So its in your blindspot. Because what Christian nations say they believe according to their ideological beliefs (the Bible) and what they do according to the flow of history ( murderous power hungry narcissists) because the latter cannot be traced to their programming, they are not evil, it must be their prey that are instead.

And 6 Centuries later the Mohammedans came along and Swept along North Africa and Southern Europe with a speed of conquest that rivaled Alexander the Great? And then held Jerusalem for how many centuries?? Around 4 centuries where Christians were in the majority in Jerusalem and then Muslims and Jews. And how were Jews and Christians treated by the Muslims for around 4 centuries? What was the attitude of the followers of Islam towards the followers of the Book? Did Christians and Jews hate living under Muslim rule, between the 8th and 11th Century?

Go on, fill in the blanks from the 8th Century to the 11th century after which the Pope helped start the Crusades and the Reconquest of Spain and the Holy Land.

Its not complex at all. You are the one trying to confuse the issue. Rome did take Jerusalem several centuries before. Who cares about that. Muslims took over at some point.

You seem to want to reduce everything to one commonality. That would be like saying the Neo Cons that ran the Bush administration and promoted the doctrine of preemtive strike, used false intel to promote fighting a war to gain control over Iraqi oil fields reflects the true nature of the American character, given that the US is using similar intel to propagandize and promote fighting a war against Venezuela.

I dont need to understand Islam any more that you need to understand Christianity. Someone can understand Christianity by using two criteria
- what is contained in the teachings of Christ
- how professed Christians live and treat others
Same with Judaism.
Same with Islam..
- what is contained in the Quran
- how professed Muslims live and treat others.

I have listed in great detail what is going on with Islam, both from the content of the Quran about the killing of people and in actual reality in the world .. they are murdering people. These animals need to be destroyed.

The Rashidun Caliphate was less murderous than the Seljuk Turks, but that does not mean that the Jews and Christians in Jerusalem wanted some disgusting Muslims rule over them. Nobody wants that. When the Pope went on his rampage killing out these Muslims, it was a great day in Jerusalem.
