"A nationalistic authoritarian government with a rich ruling class like Russia isn't leftist just because they practiced a form of socialism."

It doesn't make them extreme right wingers either. Are you claiming that Russia has a right wing government? If so, what about Russia makes them right wing?
Laws making it a criminal offense to criticize Russia's government makes it right wing.

Being run by a dictator makes it right wing, since the terms left and right originate from people who wanted to limit a ruler's power (leftists) vs. those who wanted to maintain the established order (right-wingers).

Russia's decades of extreme nationalism, especially during Soviet years, made them right-wing.

No it does not. Stop making up BS.

No it does not. Stop making up BS. Even if it did that would be Ukraine. Ukraine is a dictatorship and right wing. They even have a lot of neo nazis there.

No it does not. Is there any lie you will not tell? You need to prove the things you say. You are obviously incapable of that so you lie instead. You are pathetic. Learn some political science. Left is right is not getting you anywhere. We are not as easily fooled as you are at fooling yourself.

edit: BTW, is the kingdom of Saudi Arabia a fascist regime? Yes or no?
The DPRK? Yes or no?
Myanmar? Yes or no?

Communism does not exist. Only socialism exists and the DPRK is socialist. That in itself proves you wrong.

Do the people as a whole decide how the means of production are used? No, an authoritarian ruler does.

So what? That only proves my point. You said a dictatorship is right wing and cannot be left wing. You also said totalitarianism was right wing and could not be left.

You proved yourself wrong by contradicting yourself.
Stop falsely calling people fascists just because you don't like them. You are making a mockery of politics in general. I tolerated it for a while until it became a trend. People are actually ignorant enough to believe it if they see it repeated enough. I will not let anyone get away with it anymore when I see it. I know you are a follower, but following Kev is a foolish thing to do. He doesn't know what a fascist is. He is just using the term as a pejorative. Stop following people like that.

So what?
So DPRK doesn't meet the basic definition of socialism. Therefore they're not socialist.

@metal-brain said
I said socialist, not communist. I never called Russia a communist country. They never made the transition from socialism to communism. For that reason alone your whole post is irrelevant.

The USSR has the word socialist in it, not communist.
Uh… socialism in this context follows the same philosophical agenda as communism, ie dialectic materialism.

So, the USSR cannot be deemed socialist in the slightest. Ask yourself: did the workers control production and have an equal say in distribution?
No, they did not.

The State decided for them and they had no influence over the State. End of.

The DPRK is socialist. Didn't you read the article I posted?

DPRK isn't socialist. Have you read a dictionary?

Socialism is the transition to communism, not communism. That is why communism does not exist in practice. Nobody has ever completed the transition.

Stop using the terms socialism and communism interchangeably. They are not the same thing. Workers have never controlled production and had an equal say in distribution. If they did it would be communism, not socialism.

I didn’t, in this post, say they were the same.

Read it again. Ask the question I pose.

There you go sunshine.

So they're not socialist.

It's as much socialist as Lincoln's sheep's tail was a leg: calling it so doesn't make it one.

North Korea behaves like a right-wing authoritarian dictatorship, therefore it is one, regardless of what you or they call it. Ditto your beloved Russia.
