@shallow-blue saidNorth Korea is left winged. They provide their people with universal health care. Right wing governments do not do that.
So they're not socialist.
It's as much socialist as Lincoln's sheep's tail was a leg: calling it so doesn't make it one.
North Korea behaves like a right-wing authoritarian dictatorship, therefore it is one, regardless of what you or they call it. Ditto your beloved Russia.
North Korea is socialist much like Cuba.
@metal-brain saidGo live there, then. You'd love it, surely? You always claim you're the leftiest of the lefties - if North Korea is also left-wing, you should feel right at home.
North Korea is left winged.
@metal-brain saidHaha they don’t even provide them with food on a regular basis, maybe party members who live in the cities might get healthcare but I doubt the vast majority of NK population get what we would describe as healthcare.

@shallow-blue saidI don't speak Korean.

@kevcvs57 saidHow would you know? Have you ever been there?

Is there any propaganda you don't believe without question?
North Korea’s Public Health Law (Article 9) states: “The State provides every citizen with the benefits of complete free medical service. The workers, farmers, working intellectuals and all the rest of the citizens have the right to free medical treatment.”
Does the UK do that for you?
@metal-brain saidIf they're really as Communist as you claim, they'll give you an education according to your needs. Off you go - put your life where your mouth is.
I don't speak Korean.
@metal-brain saidAnd the USA Declaration of Independence promises each of its citizens the right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness, yet it locks up a full one percent of its citizens.

Don't believe the words a state uses to describe itself, believe the acts it inflicts on its population.
@shallow-blue saidStop lying. I never called them communist. Communism in practice does not exist.

@shallow-blue saidIt was written while they enslaved Africans too. I guess they didn't consider slaves to be citizens. Women were considered property back then, right? Apparently only white men were citizens.

Those incarcerated citizens are not constitutionally protected from slavery either. There was an exception written into the constitutional amendment. Life and liberty does not apply to convicted criminals. There were always exceptions few people cared to challenge. It is still that way.

Even our POTUS and veep have a horrible record on this. People didn't hear about it on the news enough to care. Welcome to clown world.
@metal-brain saidWell 💩 for brains that’s why I used the phrase “I doubt” every witness that escapes from NK talks about starvation level poverty in the rural areas of the country but I’m supposed to believe your evaluation regarding the nirvana that is NK. Rule No1 listen to the victims don’t listen to the party apparatchiks or their propaganda machine.

@metal-brain saidSo, don't believe what a country claims about itself, only believe its actions.
It was written while they enslaved Africans too. I guess they didn't consider slaves to be citizens. Women were considered property back then, right? Apparently only white men were citizens.
Don't believe that the USA is all for freedom. Don't believe that North Korea is anywhere near socialist.
@metal-brain saidThe NHS is designed along communist princples. So the UK does have health care, free at the point of delivery.

Just because a government supplies health care, doesn’t make it communist. It makes the health care system socialist at best.
@shavixmir saidI said that universal health care is socialist. How many times do I have to tell you communism does not exist in practice? Nobody has ever made the transition. The DPRK is a socialist nation. Too corrupt to be fully communist, but at least they give their people free health care. Free health care should be a human right.

How many times do we have to explain to you that socialism, like communism, has the producing classes having control over production.
This isn’t even a debatable issue. In North Korea the workers control squat diddley.

@shavixmir saidYou are wrong. You are talking about communism, not socialism. No country exists where producing classes having control over production. That is why communism does not exist in practice. Socialism does. Socialism is just the failure to reach communism.

North Korea is socialist. Socialism is the transition between capitalism and communism. How many times do I have to repeat this fact to you?
