And please don't say weather. California has the nicest weather in the country.
@sh76 saidBecause liberals are tired of being politically marginalized due to all living in the same spot. Those States are going to turn purple soon.

@sh76 saidIn order to civilize the red states, that's why. But seriously...

Some may leave, say, California for Texas because "Low taxes! *derpty derp*!"
Indeed, as the nation ages, those on fixed incomes are likely to flock to the places with lower taxes. The infrastructure of such states is, of course, quite awful, as are the social programs; but retirees get their social security and health care from the federal government, so they are relatively insulated from the quasi-Third-World conditions of places like, say, Florida or Texas.
But generally those who leave blue states for red ones help to turn the red states into purple ones (e.g. Georgia), and then eventually blue ones (e.g. Oregon).
Frankly I'm heartened that this is occurring, because having so many Democratic voters crammed into California, New York, and a few other big blue states is increasing the likelihood that the Electoral College will hand the GOP the presidency despite losing the popular vote by millions.
@athousandyoung saidYes.

Bingo.
People are not leaving one area to turn another area into their political dream 🙄 get a grip people.
People are selfish and it's most likely the cost of living or lower taxes on their business or old people looking for a more relaxed atmosphere or just a change of scenery.
If any of you think people are leaving blue states to turn red states blue, please allow me to be the first to call you a retard.
@endlame saidI'm not saying that. In fact, I think the political proclivities of a US state are pretty far down the list of considerations when someone decides to move to that state. However, it is well known that when Californians move to red states, they tend to be quite a bit more liberal than the natives, and over time this pulls the state toward the left. A Californian moving to Alabama is highly unlikely to subscribe wholly to Alabama "culture," just as they are highly unlikely to develop a Southern drawl.

@mott-the-hoople saidThanks, Einstein. Definitely one of your more considered analyses.

@soothfast saidOhhhhh, interesting, a lib uses the word culture interchangeably with race. AvJoe is breaking through to you boys.

Hey, clue in...it is not about race.
Edit: Alabamans would not be able to handle the Yankees pronunciations,,,,a recent one, I heard a yankee he was 'waiting to set a deat...." That is the way that they pronounce the word date. Would I lie.?

@soothfast saidYou mean idiots don't realize why they left and they keep voting as usual and then complain and move again.

Cal and NY lead the pack, 545000 and 536000 citizens, respectively, moving away. We can all gueeeeeeeesssss why, but what is it about those states. Uhhh, would you Move there!!!??? Haha. The rich prevail in this case, and more power to them. They have nothing to do with us, we all need to get our own acts together. I myself changed residence to another state. ....wonder why....
Oh be aware...the rich will ALWAYS outsmart the govt before they wil allow govt to get their 'stuff'.
@soothfast saidI don't go to class!
If Mott is at the back of the class here, then you're in the supply closet behind him.
I wander the halls with all of the answers.
