New York doesn't pay a thing to the federal government. The people of New York do. they pay federal income taxes on precisely the same rules that govern the people in red states.

That New York and California have high state income taxes has nothing to do with the fact that New York and California residents have higher incomes and thus pay higher federal tax rates. The ...[text shortened]... top the steady decline in its people's quality of life due to incredible bureaucratic mismanagement.
People in those States have higher income BECAUSE they are in those States with the huge ports and diverse populations

Oof. You knew what I meant and the point still stands regardless of your opinion of the matter. The higher state taxes are inversely correlated to their lower reliance on federally funded resources.

You know what? Screw the propaganda issue. That's like 1% of the reason anyway.

Stick to high taxes, falling quality of life and government interference into things that are none of its damn business.

That's plenty.
The problem? You called yourself a moderate while espousing quite radical and false opinions about education.

Roots - a violent and horrifying depiction of slavery that makes lots of white people 'feel' guilty - came out in 1978 and was required viewing in elementary school classrooms for decades. If anything, the schools have begun phasing that out. It's only the conservative media machine that makes you think the wokeness problem has infected schools to the point that we need to remove books about Roberto Clemente.

===Do you have a theory?===

Yes.

High taxes, overregulation (especially under the covid) and BS propaganda.

Why would anyone sane would want to live in a place with 12% state income tax, where they filled in skate parks and closed hiking trails deep into 2021 (and maybe into 2022), where the schools are actively trying to make your kids feel like crap because of their ...[text shortened]... e state, and even so I'd probably leave if I weren't so tied to this community for familial reasons.
This all seems strangely out of character for you on account of its visceral content and blatant illogic. Are you now using the Bing AI to generate posts?

What good is a lower tax rate IF your income is much lower?

New York's nominal GDP per capita in the third quarter of 2022 was $105,22; California's was $93,130.

By contrast, your right wing paradises of Texas and Florida were at $79,995 and $63,081 respectively. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._states_and_territories_by_GDP#50_states_and_the_District_of_Columbia

Ah is that his secret?

I haven’t seen anything quite as strange as “lower taxes and increase government spending” like last time though. And he’s bothering to put some words in bold which I doubt a chat bot could do itself.

The joke is that sh76, a few months ago, used an AI to generate a post to see how it would be received. It was a fairly well-written post (far and away more literate than, say, Mott's boneheaded blithering), and an interesting experiment.

As for the Bing AI, well, it has "issues."

They are leaving because of money.
Cal and NY lead the pack, 545000 and 536000 citizens, respectively, moving away. We can all gueeeeeeeesssss why, but what is it about those states. Uhhh, would you Move there!!!??? Haha. The rich prevail in this case, and more power to them. They have nothing to do with us, we all need to get our own acts together. I myself ...[text shortened]... h be aware...the rich will ALWAYS outsmart the govt before they wil allow govt to get their 'stuff'.
Yeah that worked out great for Mikhail Khodorkovsky

Government interference! your moving to a red state because you don’t like government interference, sorry but that’s just surreal.
Don’t say gay, Don’t teach African or African American studies, Don’t terminate a pregnancy unless I say you can. You know the list is a lot longer, I guess the term ‘Government Interference’ means something very different in US red states than it does in the UK.

your at a disadvantage at competitive debate so you create your own facts. You dont fool anyone, just make yourself look like a fool.

your side is headed downhill like a snowball headed for hell.

“ Edit: I'm quite moderate politically ”
Your post would suggest otherwise because you sound like a dyed in the wool ultra right wing propagandist who wants to live in a state where the destitute and public services are left to fend for themselves, where conspiracy theories are the basis for state legislation and you can send your white kids to schools that are not permitte ...[text shortened]... s are on a mission to raise ‘Stepford Children’
Enjoy if you do manage to move to Stepford central.
Kev, seriously, you are one twisted sister.

“ where the schools are actively trying to make your kids feel like crap because of their whiteness”

It’s literally just occurred to me that guilt is there for a reason and the lack of guilt is an indicator of sociopathy 🤷🏻‍♂️ The whole of the US should surely feel some pang of guilt about slavery and it’s aftermath, it’s how we know we’ve done something wrong.
Well, of course, this is just total racist bulldoodoo.

Nobody today has "done anything wrong" in re, slavery 200 years ago.
You have to be a real racist bastid to say that since slave owners were white, then all white people *today* are slave owners -
all except for the precious @kevcvs57, of course. And you thick-as-a-brick libs think you are not racist?? Crimminy!

What fukking tripe.
