@zahlanzi saidWhat do you mean unregulated???? We have no (government) regulations ? You may want to google that and come back around
pff weather. you act as if there is some hidden reason nobody can figure out.
it's capitalism. Unregulated capitalism. When a shack that is about to fall over in a stiff breeze costs 1 million dollars in California, when rent is as high as you need 3 room mates to afford it, people might decide that living with their parents in kansas is preferable than being homeless w ...[text shortened]... d at google.
I might be wrong. It might be the wokeness permeating the air in all blue states.
@mott-the-hoople saidSo House price differentials and wildfires it is then.
LOL…crime, cant go downtown because of all the druggies 💩ing in the streets…taking all your money in taxes…quality of life is nonexistent.
@sh76 saidThey are leaving blue states because they can't stand being in them anymore, so they are moving to red states in order to enjoy it, until they bring their crappy SJW values with them and turn the red state purple.

And please don't say weather. California has the nicest weather in the country.
Then they will look at moving to another red state after they ruin things.
They are the locusts of mankind.

Could it be the wild fires or possibly differential in house prices. Going from a relatively high housing cost area to a low one and pocketing the change is very popular over here.
Do you have a theory? Perhaps it’s the lack of fertility choices or lack diversity and freedom of speech
Yes.
High taxes, overregulation (especially under the covid) and BS propaganda.
Why would anyone sane would want to live in a place with 12% state income tax, where they filled in skate parks and closed hiking trails deep into 2021 (and maybe into 2022), where the schools are actively trying to make your kids feel like crap because of their whiteness and where the government is more concerned with whether you're sensitive to people's pronouns than whether your neighborhood looks like crap, when they could instead move to a place with low or no state income tax, where the government basically doesn't interfere with your day-to-day lives and where they still care about things like safety and cleanliness first and foremost?
Edit: I'm quite moderate politically and I live in a red enclave in a blue state, and even so I'd probably leave if I weren't so tied to this community for familial reasons.
@averagejoe1 saidi am getting bored calling you dumb.

if by chance you happen to see a person butt naked on the street and you say "hey look at that person, they naked" what would you say if some douchebag interjects and says "nuh huh, they aren't naked, you fool, they have socks on" ?
Eh you're probably not gonna get the analogy anyway.
@sh76 saidYep, sounds legit. What drives people to uproot their lives and move thousands of kilometres away from a state where a home is 1 million dollars is the "wokeness" in schools and the pronouns on social media.

There are 11M available jobs out there. Zahlanzi says it is OK to live off of your parents and become whatever one who lives off his parents becomes.
Brrrrrrrrrr
Out where. What jobs. What do they pay. Do they cover the cost of you moving across a continent?
Intelligent people ask more questions when given a talking point. Idiots just gobble up what Tucker is vomiting, spew it towards others then strut around, very happy to have "owned the libs"

If one is so lucky as to have parents that own a home. A house that might have been bought by their grandparents with just an assembly line salary. Back when the US was a communist hellhole because the billionaires had a 90% marginal tax rate
Most people aren't that lucky.
@sh76 saidIt's worth pointing out in this discussion that low taxation in red state governments is currently being subsidized by blue states. New York pays $20billuon more per year than they receive. In the departure of high income folks from blue to red states, i think one of three things will happen:

1) blue states won't notice and will continue to happily continue paying red states to support their services and infrastructure.
2) red states raise taxes
3) red states cut services
Either way the current system is unrealistic/unsustainable. The utopian low tax/low regulation only exists when they don't need to pay for their own stuff.

Your post would suggest otherwise because you sound like a dyed in the wool ultra right wing propagandist who wants to live in a state where the destitute and public services are left to fend for themselves, where conspiracy theories are the basis for state legislation and you can send your white kids to schools that are not permitted to teach them the truth about their own nations history or the reality of contemporary race relations in the US.
Republican states are on a mission to raise ‘Stepford Children’
Enjoy if you do manage to move to Stepford central.

It’s literally just occurred to me that guilt is there for a reason and the lack of guilt is an indicator of sociopathy 🤷🏻♂️ The whole of the US should surely feel some pang of guilt about slavery and it’s aftermath, it’s how we know we’ve done something wrong.
@zahlanzi saidI created a job but nobody wants to take it. One dollar an hour to do my laundry and clean the litter box.

@wildgrass saidNew York doesn't pay a thing to the federal government. The people of New York do. they pay federal income taxes on precisely the same rules that govern the people in red states.

That New York and California have high state income taxes has nothing to do with the fact that New York and California residents have higher incomes and thus pay higher federal tax rates. The state taxes paid by NY and CA residents don't go to Florida and Texas.
If the federal government wants to cut funding to states in general and FL and TX are forced to make modest increases in state taxation, that's okay with me. But they'd never in a million years become the bloated incompetent governments of places like California, whose high tax rates are impotent to stop the steady decline in its people's quality of life due to incredible bureaucratic mismanagement.

Stick to high taxes, falling quality of life and government interference into things that are none of its damn business.
That's plenty.

And don’t forget Elon Musk lost two hundred billion dollars when he moved to Texas under similar circumstances. Do you think his tax decrease made up for it?
