You brought up a topic in an adult forum and an adult treated you like an equal by calmly presenting his points in a rational, educated manner. This isn't your school cafeteria, where children call each other names rather than listen to their opinions. You're at the grown-up table now, and your response to Sasquatch is inexcusable, whether you agree with him or not. If you have different information to present from a reliable source, present it. If you wish to be respected or would like your opinions to be respected, show you're worthy of that respect.

Sigh.

Any reason why people might talk to you like a child, do you think?

Why yes I can see Europe's reluctance to fight a war. After two World Wars who could blame them? That's still not an excuse to defend themselves though. I mean I froze my arse off patrolling the Czech and East German borders while the German soldiers slept in the barracks because the US was protecting them. Why should they get involved when they have the US to do their fighting. Look at what's going on in Afghanistan. You have some NATO units that are reluctant to engage with the Taliban. Not to mention the French contingent leaving a few months ago. With friends like that who needs enemies?

I didn't think it was too impressive on the top of a 113 freezing my gonads off. That's why I'm going over there next year. I want to walk across that border and see what is on the other side.

...and who in hades is Sudan?
This is so sad. Remember, it's never too late to start reading relevant
debates, engage in them using a civil manner and most importantly read
up on issues before you speak. It'll get you respect if not agreement.
Consider not only one source of information but many and then make up
your own mind based on any "facts" you can get your hands on. This is
just so embarrassing it actually hurts inside. 😞

Everyone knows that Sudan is the next to be American president. Or was
that Obama? Ar, you never can tell with those African-sounding names
they have in the middle-east, eh?

In this thread even slimjim appear intelligent next to you. I guess
everything really is relative, eh?

But seriously, it's not the end of the world. I'm sure no one (sasquatch or
anyone else) is so petty that they'll hold this against you in the future.
Just shape up, think your arguments through and never, ever, type
the kind of book-sized comments I do, because no one has the actual
strength to read them. That is, unless you really don't want people
to read them. Which I do. So... that makes me a bit dumb, eh? Oh, well,
I'm just one of those "soon to be muslim europeans who won't kick butt
for anyone else (least of all an abstract idea such as a country)"-sissies,
so never take me seriously if you don't like my kind. That's another
advice that sticks right up my butt. I have confidence that no one
actually read this far though, so I'm on the safe side with this one.

Unless, of course, you do what I suspect you do with all books, and skip
straight to the... MY GOD! What have I done!? 😲

Addition: Oh, and as for bashing on bush (love that one), I think
it's only natural. You meet or hear about a person that's actually way
more stupid than yourself, and you just have to love that. Anyone who
claims not to is either lying or dead inside. When that person who is
incredibly enough more stupid than yourself manage to do so much
harm, you not only bash on him/her, but you get angry inside. The
reason so many people all over the world is bashing on bush is simply
because he's that dumb and has caused that much suffering.

Want facts? Just google on "Bush quotes" and you'll get a fair idea about
the man.

Addition: He does hold a certain entertainment value. I'll give him
that. Just looking at the man has me snickering inside. 😵

Surely the Germans had little choice in the matter post ww2 as to what arms they were allowed to bear, the format of their rearmament and the degree to which they were allowed to protect themselves.

Add to that a world that has grown disillusioned with the notion of a just war or an honorable battle, and you could probably explain the rest as to why the armed forces of Europe has shown little spark or commitment in recent times to lay down their lives for what has increasingly been shown to be nothing more than conflict engaged in to protect the commercial interests of an international elite.
