He sees 4 people working on creating a widget, and realizes that 2 of the people are performing a task (job) in the process of starting the widget, then 1 in the middle and one at the end. The person at the end has an unnecessary job, as the middle person #3 can box up the widget......The job of the 4th person can be eliminated from the production. The job is eliminated, nothing for #4 to do, so he can work there no longer....there is no job there for him.

That's for the legally empowered persons at the company to decide not some novice outsider.

Musk doesn't know anything about the "widget" of providing government services nor does he have any lawful authority to fire employees providing them.

Lets say he has no authority to fire. So, there are thousands of people, mostly on government payroll, hired while Biden's Back Was Turned!!!!!!
So there they are being paid millions. So, WHO has the authority to fire these unwanted employees, who have no jobs to work on??

I am not going to look back at posts, but Musk has to cut entitlements. That is a lot of the waste. Like , if the govt were paying out $20M a month to loser college students for college loans, that is the losers being entitled to free money. Donald and I do not see the rationale or sense in it, so that entitlement would be eliminated.

A) It is Congress, not the President, that decides how Federal funds are spent including appropriate levels of personnel to complete Congressionally mandated tasks;

B) That if you ever read Lord of the Flies, you'd know it's a warning about blindly following "leaders" like Trump who appeal to fear and ignorance.

I agree with you that entitlements need to be cut. Entitlements are Medicare, and social security. I also understand why taxpayers would be upset that a multi billionaire who does not pay taxes and was not elected gets to unilaterally make decisions about whose entitlements to cut.

Federal Funds that Musk is finding being misspent are not being decided by congress, they re being willy nilly sent by the agencioes like USAID without congress' knowledge.....sent by their employees to people like the horrible Stacy Abrams to give to losers, green people , etc..
