.Y'all know someone who knows someone who is making and throwing molotov cocktails at his cars. If you were devoting your time to helping me, I would not destroy your property. I would thank you. Do you defend the molotov person?

Just a humble guy selling cars and rescuing astronauts is leaving out a big chunk of the story. Do you really not see why they're protesting?
Just this week they have announced their intentions to slash social security, Medicare, unemployment insurance and food stamps. They are gutting public institutions, stripping environmental protections, destabilizing the economy and people’s lives. Musk is openly and gleefully firing federal workers en masse and dismantling programs that serve millions at home and across the globe. They’ve ignored multiple judicial orders, and refused to restart payments that they were ordered to. The unofficial agency Musk leads, the “department of government efficiency”, is digging into systems and pushing out public servants, when its own staff hasn’t received so much as a background check. Musk’s conflicts of interest are piling up without any disclosures. All of the programs this administration is destroying are paid for by people like you and me through our taxes. Tesla – a billion-dollar company – shelled out zero income tax last year. Justice through government processes will be slow, if it comes at all.

No they haven't.
Saying that would be political suicide.

I did. The only thing Musk says he's going to cut is the fraud and waste, he has said nothing about reducing benefits. That claim is in the headlines, but the articles then go on to say no such thing.

I shouldnt have to do your homework, but the quote was something like "most federal spending is entitlements so thats the big one to eliminate..."

If you can't read the tea leaves I can't help you. All their talk of fraud and waste in entitlements is giving them the rationale to cut it. Of course trump won't say that, but that's the plan.

Hopefully the incompetence will get in their way.

That does not equate to lowering social security benefits, you are making the statement mean what you want it to mean.

My original statement was accurate.

Burning cars is wrong on so many levels.

But the thesis that Elon is "helping" your country is also wrong oin many levels.

A person who things he can just fire some percentage of employees of public institutions to "cut waste" is deranged at minimum. He was not succesful with the strategy with Twitter, why should it work with any institution.

We talekd about that earlier.

I love it. They are true American Patriots; period. I'd like to thank them for their service to our country.

Do you defend the molotov person?

He may as well be. Trump is letting him do what ever the hell he want to, then when people get really angry he can say oh that wasn't me that was Elon, even though he is the one who appointed him to do just what he is doing now.

This one, Ponderable, is saying in effect that if you are responsible for a country of citizens, or a company with stockholders, that when you are looking at the books and charged with keeping costs down, it is NOT OK to reduce staff (fire people) so that your expenses are less, resulting in more profit, more spendable revenue. That is, if you have a department that can be streamlined by reducing staff, that YOU SHOULD NOT reduce staff.

I was eagerly reading to the end to see what he would do instead. He does not divulge that, unfortunately. Maybe he will if he reads this ponderous response.

I would carefully analyze and then fire the actual excess instead of first firing some percentage and thinking afterwards.
