Would forum members rather go thru your reams of links, with all the tomes of law? Or, would they like personal opinions of things like, say, the president decides one day to pay off the loans of college graduates?
Would it be more interesting for non-lawyers to argue the law, or for these same non-lawyers to chat amongst themselves about the logic of paying off the ...[text shortened]... . You will garner quite a few acolytes on that one. I bet Wajoma would see the light of Marauder!!
This was worth re-posting.

Why should I respond, for the umpteenth time, to an obvious lie?

Biden is following the laws on the books regarding immigration and has proposed additional funding to increase resources needed for added border security. You and Republicans oppose that funding.

Moreover, this administration has processed millions of removals of people (and they are people something y ...[text shortened]... aim that Biden isn't doing his "legal duty" is false and I've said so plenty of times on this Forum.
Legal duty is to protect us and the border. He should go to his offfice this morning and do an executive order to stop the hell. He will not. Let's just stipulate for sake of argument it is all Trump's fault. That will keep Sonhouse from writing in.
So, Biden could, with a pen, stop the influx. You might say that his edict would be in conflict with some 'law' or immigration statute. OK, lets say it is. He does it all the time, breaking laws. So, Also let him do this, and you libs can just sue him.
Everything I am suggesting here trumps your entire post. One simple decision, no conference needed. Biden needs to act. I cannot WAIT for Trump.

I've already given my opinion on these ridiculous claims; the situation at the border is a nuisance, nothing more. At most, we should increase spending on Border Patrol and extra administrative judges to process asylum claims as the Biden administration has proposed.

Increased immigration is a good thing.

Something about picking lettuce, according to Sonhouse. But they (about 1M per year?) have been picking the stuff for decades and decades. We are covered, a great program, and we have allowed them to become citizens, mainly becuase they identified themselves and we know who they are, duh.
Can anyone here tell us what has changed? Is there more lettuce, that could be a factor.

The economy. Please review the studies I cited here: https://www.redhotpawn.com/forum/debates/the-weak-biden-begs-mexico-to-stop-it.198569

There are many more coming to same conclusion.

"Executive order"? You mean act like a dictator? That's what you call him when he makes legal executive orders but you want him to make some that violate immigration law.

ahh…like slavery did

America does not have a vast labor shortage that requires waves of low-wage immigrants to alleviate; in fact, ounemployment among unskilled workers is high—about 30 percent. Moreover, many of the unskilled, uneducated workers now journeying here labor, like Velasquez, in shrinking industries, where they force out native workers, and many others work in industries where the availability of cheap workers has led businesses to suspend investment in new technologies that would make them less labor-intensive.”

For the nation.

Refreshing the gene pool, for one, since the last couple of election cycles show that dumber-than-dirt white supremacists can't be allowed to be left to their own biases and prejudices. They tend to elect authoritarian demagogues, apparently.

The more people with divergent backgrounds, the better. The US has benefitted from every single immigration wave since the nation was founded.

How many whites do you see out in the fields?

Immigrants take jobs where there is a need for more workers. They are not "replacing white workers". Get real.

When I turned 16 I worked as a bus girl in a popular restaurant. I worked with a staff of about 10 others, none of whom were white. I talked to others at school and the white kids were saying that taking such a job was derogatory and belittling. I also helped out in the kitchen, when others were taking smoke breaks and such. I never found it "belittling" but lots of white people I spoke to apparently did.

Seriously....is Marauder a bot? Co'mon... this is the AI age, I fear what he, or it, will throw at us next. I will find it difficult, because I do a lot of posting from a golf cart.
