Zelensky knows if elections are held he would lose so he has to continue the war to cling onto power. The only thing preventing elections in Ukraine is the war. That is why Zelensky wants the killing to never end. Millions of Ukrainians have already died so he can stay in power.

The US is only trying to end the war because the US can't afford to keep giving money away through weapons. It's costing the US too much money.
