Looking at the Box Scores, I think it must have been 3-2... neither of our scores can be right for the second inning.
Final 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 R H E
Chi Cubs 0 2 0 0 0 2 0 0 0 4 8 0
Arizona 0 4 0 2 2 0 0 0 X 8 9 1

Thanks a lot, Hoffman 😠Seriously, I think he;s been great, but now he's just old and average. But who else could Black have gone to? He used only 2 pitchers through 7 innings to the Rockies 7--he managed his resources nearly perfectly (except for Cameron taking the field--that was spooky). Hoff just couldn't nail it down. Well, just wait'll next year!
what a great game. But i would rather hear from a padre fan verifying the obvious that hoffman has never saved a big game in his life. The last two games of this season, the World Series aginst the Yankees, the AL Star game. Maybe it is Sports Illustrated curse of being called the greatest ever. But you'd think the guy would get a save once ina while.
