Under the circumstances I think it would have pointed the finger of blame strongly in your direction and therefore cause future embarrasment on journeys by being label as "the one that dealt it".
I hope someone had the gaul to push past him with an inanimate object (such as briefcase or umbrella) to squidge his offensive Type 6 about a bit as penance for causing and making you all put up with the odour.

hope not too many poopers are in the US or the UK or Europe then when i go on my trip because i plan to catch the trains in every city i go to....
