After soaking the clothes in Kao washing powder disolved in water, emptied the remaining used water from the bucket onto the laundry floor and to my amazement, cockraoches came running out of unknown crevaces like they were running from the devil. Some time later, checked again and said cockroackes were to run no more, motionless to an insect.

This is the product that will save you and yours from the toxic pesticides:

First on the left of the product line up.

Unsure if other laundry powders have the same effect as haven't tested them.

(steps back from the holy tower of knowledge and awaits further ground breaking revelations)

haven't come across a cheap hotel that has room installed personal washing machines yet and my clothes last for years as a consequence.

been a while since i posted in earnest and forgot the title truncating function. previous correspondence on this truncating issue must have gone unnoticed. "....Kao...kills cockroaches.", but yes, probably kills cocaine and various other substances as well, you would have to remember to take it out of your socks when washing them and that remembering may be difficult for a possessor 🙂

Washing soda clears drains when flushed with boiling water. This the same stuff?

Rather fortunate that your thread title was truncated where it was.

Have you ever tried drying a shirt and a pair of trousers with those crappy hotel hairdryers?

It took me a while to perfect the operation, but if you empty the wardrobe and hang the items of clothing up, then turn on the hairdryer and place in the wardrobe, they are dry in under an hour.
Plus you can still watch the telly without to much noise.

DO NOT BOAST TO THE HOTEL STAFF ABOUT THIS!

Also, if you smell burning during the operation, replace all items as they were and phone room service and explain the hairdryer just started working and turned on you like a rabid dog.

There is something that works better, cheaper, and doesn't make such a big mess as pouring water on the floor:
Borax powder. It takes a couple of weeks to work but if you put the powder on known roach tracks, it gets on their and they lick it off but in so doing injest some of it and it eats them out from the inside. No more roaches.
