I learned that you should not add salt until the beans are cooked. I don't know what's wrong with Chronic Leaky's beans, maybe they are just stubborn.

Maybe it's the kind of bean. When I make pinto beans or black-eyed peas, I have to add salt to the water when I'm soaking them.

Actually, all of this sounds yummy! I may have to make some!
