They were a magical group. The most covered group of all time and worth their place in pop history. They do have some throw away album fillers but that doesn't detract. Any of the sixties pop bands sound empty by modern sound standards and studio techniques but that doesn't stop the pub bands of the world reverting to Beatles clear undistorted music.. which is what pulls in the drinking crowds.. Day tripper even today stands as a ground breaker in studio sound that modern bands use as a bench mark.
I have staff in there twenties who want to fill our shop with modern heavy grungy metal.. sorry but its banned.. because it wrecks the retail environment.
The Beatles in the mid sixties took the blues out of rock and roll and made it happy pop. Its juvenile to say they suck when they are such a big part of music history like it or not they are loved by billions.
I loved growing up through beatlemania, giggling at pie eyed girls with transistor radios.
Looking back at the end of the era when John found his ego and mouth... I'm glad they broke up it gave us four unique talents that blessed us with many years of very diverse music and in Ringo case...lol.. Thomas!
We'd all gather at a mates place to listen to their latest record over and over again until we dared to critique it. The only single I didn't like immediately was strawberry fields.. but I was 11 so how old are you knockers 5? sounds like it.
