According to Cludi, he is actually a VERY good player and an FIDE arbiter.
Anyway - it is not reason to forgive him cheating. We have no guarantee that he wont cheat again.

I was thinking to myself, we should show a gesture of goodwill and allow him back onto the website.
After all, we live in a society bounded by rules but with the underlying principle that a man can change and become a better person when those rules are applied to him.
I think he has done his time now and is ready to be rehabilitated into the world of red hot pawn.

Who is with me?
Feck him.

He deservedly got a life sentence.

Let him serve it.

would you by a used car from that kind of a guy?
Also from Korch: Anyway - it is not reason to forgive him cheating. We have no guarantee that he wont cheat again.

I agree with both of you, I don't want to let him back. I was just responding to a number of people who said he was a kid with a chess program.

I think we should also give Small Pox another shot, as well as the Bubonic Plague.

Sorry but he blindly followed the number 1 move rec almost without question. Even if it was a joint rec. Whichever was listed first was what he did.

In a game V someone in my clan he pushed a pawn home but it was to be taken immediately. Fritz rec'ed Rook and queen as joint top but with rook listed first. He did it!!!!!!

Now forgive me but queen is right at the top so you have to be some kind of idiot to do that.......or a cheat!!

He was rated about 1900 OTB, but as a correspondence player he was rated much higher. Would you like it if I were rated 600 points higher here because I decided to check ALL my moves with an engine as well as let it run over night figuring lines?

Good is good, but it's not an excuse to use a computer to help you think about each move.

He did that? I thought he was a bit smarter. He should know that as a 1900 OTB player as Phlabbit mentioned.

I think it could be possible to have him back, what about if they had a parole officer to keep an eye on him.

He would have to send each move to the parole officer to be checked before making them, if they were deemed 'too strong' he would be forced to come up with something else.

Problem solved!

It makes me very suspicious of anyone who "campaigns" for the return of cheats.
What are their motives, I wonder?😲

Come on, get serious. Red hot pawn could EASILY be the biggest correspondence site on the net, the subscription is far cheaper then any other chess site and you get a whole load of great features for your money.

The only thing that I think holds it back is the draconic system of bans, I think it scares some potential members away. If a major offender could be brought back and redeem himself then his testimonial would bring hundreds, even thousands, of people who were in two minds about joining.

Thats the good part to my arguement - it would be good for the site as a whole.

Come one, get serious, this is a stupid idea. I'm a crap player, but, I hate playing against engine users. The man's not going to change and he's demonstrated that at GameSlut.
