We had a discussion a lil while ago and some guys suggested chrome was a good browser. I couldn't even install it and here's why :-

- downloads a slim installer 557 KB
- google's dictators presume everyone want to install online
- It does not ask for installation location, one might want to install it to a pen drive.
- It does not ask for any kind of response or permission from the user.
- It failed to install because I was a non-Admin user. Which idiot uses their PC as admin these days?
- Google's dictators have not even placed an offline installer, once they grow up I might install their crappy browser.

Really? So that trojans, rootkits, keyloggers, spyware and malware can infect the computer and run with super-cow admin powers? That is why windows pcs are more vulnerable than unix/linux, unix/linux services do not run as admin.

then it's okay. there's no way any of the good people on 4chan would ever hide anything nasty inside one.

In over a decade of running my home PC as Admin on various versions of Windows I've had NOT ONE incidence of trojans, rootkits, keyloggers, spyware or malware.

You are... a noob.

No, you are the noob. Even Microsoft who make windows do not recommend you run your computer as admin. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090306083427AAv9kEF

Lol! You counter my post with a Yahoo Answers link!? Do you know how terrible that whole system is?

Anyway, I glanced at the MS article that was posted there, and I know it all already, thanks for nothing. As I wrote above, I don't have any viruses, and have never acquired one. You need to stop opening those .exe attachments on "YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS" emails and curb your scavenging for hardcore porn. Only idiots get viruses.

The cheap mylar/plastic fake chrome is bunk, but the real thing is awesome. Really dresses up a car or motorcycle. Chrome is also used for alloy making. Stainless steel has steel, nickle, and chrome, from what I remember.

I just did a quick check on google, there's tonnes of stuff on why you shouldn't run windows as an admin. Actually, the onus is on you to provide a document from Microsoft (the makers of windows) where they recommend to specifically run your computer as an admin.

Tell me why Linux/Unix which are not susceptible to windows viruses, do not encourage their users to run as admin? A lollipop for the correct answer.

No-one here said "you should run as admin", but those of us who know how to handle a Windows PC know how to protect ourselves from all these critters.
