My over the board rating has been higher then my correspondence for ages. I feel like I play my best chess when I am concentrating through the whole game and not taking lots of breaks for several days between moves.
Although lately the two have been coming alot closer, they roughly approximate each other now.

That sounds like that it is a maximum limit, but the real value is likely to be much lower.
For example, there are no GMs here (that I know of) and there are likely to be many more people that stay in the lower tail of the distribution that would never be in an OTB tournament. I think that it's likely that even if the shape of the distribution is similar, ...[text shortened]... ct that CC and OTB are not perfectly correlated, but accepting it as a simplifying assumption)

I've always had my OTB rating way higher because I just don't pay attention during play here usually, nut now the ratings are equal because I'v messed up sooooo much OTB games now that I dropped a staggering 150 points 🙁:'(😞
Well, like many things, it depends.
If you play here as intensely as you play otb, and you've played both for a while, the two ratings should be close.
Even if you don't play much otb, you can extrapolate. For example, I've been playing otb on and off, and right now my published uscf is about 1500 and I win most of my games which means I'm climbing in rating. My rate here has finally leveled to about 1600 and change. I think if I played otb more, that's where I'd level off, too.

I know it is a guess at best, but how do the ratings on this site compare to actual chess ratings (higher, lower, similar??) I saw a USCF Ratings distribution chart http://www.uschess.org/ratings/ratedist.php and was just curious how ratings on this site would compare.
