I would have to say that the only difference between the UK and US is the "likelyhood of meeting an idiot" ratio.
Even if the idiot figures were even per head of population, the higher population in the US would mean that you would be more likely to meet one......an idiot i mean. We had Celebrity Big Brother, time for yous to feel the pinch
