Paying doctors considerably more is a strategically sound thing to do for the NHS. Reining in their working hours would be a good thing too. Would £39,664 for doctors be an injustice?

On the contrary, I think I am being straightforward: is their pay too low? Yes. Has negotiating and not striking advanced their cause? No. Do they have the right to strike? Yes.

It's not your lack of ability, it's just your odious trolling presence gives pretty much everything you say a horrid, puerile, alienating stench.

So on the one hand you say that the doctors are blatantly and only asking for a pay increase, then you say that they are actually disguising their demands for more pay beneath a pretense of wanting an increase in strategic funding. What...?

As regards % , I don't think anyone actually expects anyone to receive a 35% increase, but that's how negotiation begins; you ask for what you want, then a compromise is found. The government stance of 'Your demands are unreasonable, therefore we aren't going to negotiate' is ridiculous and irresponsible. What will they do, wait until that which they deem reasonable demands are made, at which point negotiation becomes pointless?
