Well the problem you see is the book's written in Portuguese and as everyone knows Brits generally can't be arsed to learn another language!

And I must to add that I fear our next encouter against Germany.
From an English point of view, I have no idea who to support in this one - the team who beat us in the Quarterfinals of 1986 and 2nd round of 1998, or the team who beat us in the semis in 1990?
I think that I'll just hope for a good match with lots of goals - perhaps with a bonus of a penalty shoot out too. Make the teams really earn their semi-final place.
Can't believe some of you guys were watching the same game as me.
England played crap?
They dominated the game, from what I saw, and Ecuador seemed lucky it was only 1-0.
Normally I can't stand to watch England play, because they are so frustrating - good on paper but poor in reality.
And Argentina really struggled to get past Mexico, but is anyone saying they aren't good enough to go further?
Get real - thrashings don't really happen in the knockout stages - most of the games are likely to be close.
Originally posted by Vargi agree with you on that point. england would have scored more if they were playing the usa rather than if they were playing ecudor
