Every military tactician in the world recognises agin court as a victory of the humble half starved and disease ridden English bowmen over a vastly numerically superior French force headed by arrogantly strutting French aristocrats dripping in gold and silver astride the abrahams tank of the day.
I am sure if they were not in such dire straights the so called war crime would not have been necessary, the French forces had no such excuse for their treatment of the non combatants in the English baggage train.
Meanwhile back at the football, the best team by far won, probably better to go out on penalties to Italy than getting our head handed to us by the Germans. :'(
Originally posted by avalanchethecatItaly sure let England hang around! They are lucky they did not end up regretting squandering so many chances. That said, however, I doubt they can beat Germany. Balotelli was a liability as usual rather than an asset. Talent does not help this tempestuous player who hot dogs too much instead of creating chances.
Thank goodness we didn't win the penalty shoot-out. It would have felt like cheating after that performance! Congrats to Italy, the better side by a country mile.
