You all need to get some cheerleaders and learn the fine art of what is called "tailgating" where you cook, eat and have a good time.
Agreed Kirk. I can't see anything worth fighting over in a professional sporting event. No matter how much a like my team I cannot imagine a scenario that would make me consider it large-scale gang warfare.

Last week Miami played a sure win game against Central Florida, I believe. A huge fight broke out between the players. I think 15 players for Miami were suspended. Their coach's future is up in the air. Even one sportscaster who got bragadocious during the brawl got fired.

This week Miami almost lost to a winless Duke team. I wish they had lost.

I am suprised you never mentioned that Miami stomped on the Louisville logo a few weeks ago. That Miami team has caused a few problems for some teams for about the last 20 or so years. The Miami Hurricanes have no or little class.

Ah well, here in the Netherlands they are talking again about the ultimate solution.

No more fans from the away team in the stadium!!!

Not the most wanted solution, but it solves most of the problems. 😞

I had the very horrible experience today of getting caught up in football hooliganism after the Swansea/Millwall game today, and some of the things I had to witness were completely out of order! There were thousands of fans outside the ground fighting with police, throwing rocks and wood at police and the horses, the horses and dogs were charging ...[text shortened]... ep happening at football matches? Swansea won the game for gods sake! No need for it whatsoever!
This is an ongoing problem a lot of match days. For some reason, it is not being reported on, so people seem to believe that hooliganism is out of football.

TBH, the guys doing the fighting aren't football fans, I saw footage of hundreds of guys outside Millwall's ground waiting for opposition fans with 10 minutes to go of a match that they needed a point from for promotion, and they were trailing 2-1, IIRC.

Hooliganism is just an opportunity for some mindless violence, and for some people to experience a form of brotherhood.

This would solve little as most violence happens outside the ground.

It also means that decent fans get punished and the idiots win.

I care enough about my football teams to at least try and defend their honour if it comes to it.
Here's some 'football fans' defending the honour of their club. I'm sure the club appreciates their heroism and spirit of self-sacrifice.

The two sports have their name in common and that's it. They're like comparing Apples and Drunk British A$$holes.
