This year I have seen "Schläfer" (as mentioned), "Sehnsucht" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0416213/ - the plot sounds very cliché and boring, but it's actually a great film) and "XXY" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0995829/ - maybe not great, but quite well done). Recommendations of films I have seen last year would include "Pan's Labyrinth", "Snow Cake" and "Der freie Wille" ("The Free Will", a painful and depressing, but important film).
