Alert it - since you like giving the Forum Mods unnecessary chores to do.

Are you?
Yup and when I run a chess website that will be the rule.

Why on earth should I? I don't advocate moderation. Do keep up.

Again the hostility - why?
I gave a solution to your problem.

If you choose to project hostility onto my position when you read my posts, you are more than free to do so. It only becomes a problem when your projection of hostiility blinds you to answers to your problems.

All the best,

D

You gave a half-cocked solution - why would I want to wall myself off from the main body of the posters in the Forums? I want to foster more open, wider debate using any language.

If you can't see the hostility in your posts then that's an issue I can't help you with.

Debates: Potentially heated discussions on topics such as world affairs, politics and other such areas of interest

Perhaps you could direct me to the "Use all the f-bombs you want to screw with the Mods" Forum?
Perhaps you could direct me to the "Destroy interesting debates by turning them into flame wars" forum. You can have a heated debate without throwing around insults. It would be more interesting, and your usually good points wouldn't keep getting lost in the flames.

I don't mind if "f-bombs" are moderated. I never complained about that. What I have been complaining about is a punishment which is out of all proportion to the crime, and generally bans without a warning. And I am complaining about not allowing certain topics because they can't be discussed without using a "swear word", even if the word isn't used for swearing.

What does the word "Heated" mean to you??

EDIT: Why am I bothering?? You're obviously insincere.

Why not consider the ban a warning towards getting a longer ban? And those topics that can't be discussed without a swear word? Don't discuss them in the public forums. Try the private forums.

Again... THIS IS NIT-PICKING!

'Heated' in this context - that people will get emotional and perhaps use swear words. In the press the use of the phrase 'heated discussion' is up there with 'frank exchange of views'.

It means profanity, and lots of it! What does it mean to you?

Being passionate about your own arguments, disagreeing strongly with each other, maybe being provocative. It doesn't have to get personal.

What makes you think I am insincere?

Because you don't want to abide by the rules that the site admin lay down.

If you want an unmoderated forum, then either go somewhere else, or avail of the facility that Russ has already provided: the private clan forums.

You're assigning emotion to my posts. I really have no input into whether the little voice in your head reading the post reads it in a hostile or a jovial manner. Apologies.

If it's a warning towards getting a longer ban, it should at least be explained. If I hadn't continued complaining and asking for an explanation, I still wouldn't have any idea what I was banned for.

I am not going to start another clique. It shouldn't be necessary to start a private clan just to discuss language, and it excludes many people who might also be interested in the topic.

I was beginning to wonder if you had been born devoid of a funny bone. Its good to see that you're in full working order.

You know the saying, its funny because its true. 😉 (Does that help? 😵 )
