My mistake. The fangs are called chelicerae.

Next time try a Brown Recluse instead of those sissy Tarantulas. Maybe I could sell you some. I have a bunch of them hanging and crawling around. I actually think spiders are fascinating to watch. I don't know why, but I don't have a healthy fear of spiders like I have for snakes. In fact my phobia for snakes is pretty unhealthy and embarrassing. I've hurt myself trying to get away from even a non lethal docile one more than once. Oh well. 😕

Why not go all out and get a Sydney Funnelweb :0) very aggressive spider, backs down to nothing....... rears up on its back legs, shows you its massive fangs and just says bring it on! Capable of biting through shoes, fingernails...... etc

Story a few years ago in Sydney:

The Sydney Funnelweb loves to crawl into makeshift homes over night to keep warm, so leaving shoes and coats outside over night is not advised. Some guy left his coat out, didn't check it, put one arm in a sleeve and got bitten 17 times!! Supposedly an excruiating bite and plenty of venom in a single bite to be fatal (if untreated).

Redbacks on the other hand are cute and friendly, I will quite happily handle them :0)

I wouldn't say I'm afraid of either like I am of flappy bugs like flying roaches or heights, but I kill Black Widows whenever I find them. They're the enemy. Too damn poisonous.

Aren't they pretty docile though? They're not going to bother you if you don't bother them, seems a shame to just kill them.

Half of me laughs at your sensitivity. Just half.

True. I probably wouldn't kill one. Try to let it outside or whatever. On the other hand, if you've got a baby in the house, best thing is to annihilate anything potentially harmful in a 2 mile radius.

Is that the one where the eggs hatch inside you and come out your peehole?

Seriously, I tried doing a search for Mexican Grape Spider. Nothing. I think you just made it up.
Made it up? Why Sir, I am crushed at your lack of trust. 😉

One might accidentally bother them. It's like having a nervous midget with a syringe of poison hiding under my sink. I'm not going to leave her alone!

Great analogy!

🙄

I think the midget would fit better under your bed though.
