Popularity contest, certainly is 🙁
The final decision will be made by the site administrators, but the community's opinion will be very influential

Now I'm wondering why I bothered looking at their profiles. 😞

Yeah...voting for game mods because you like their personality..But we're voting for who we think might be able to spot an engine!
And you know that, do you ?

I have only talked to two, maybe three in detail......and not about game moderation.

The vote is an exercise in popularity.

Umm I think I agree with you now. I looked at their profiles and had in mind what Claudi wrote in his blog. But yeah I think you could be right. The whole idea is bonkers anyway! Chess is for fun cheating wouldn't make me enjoy it more, I can't imiagine there a reason making any one bother to cheat.

I notice you haven't spammed the Science forum with one of these threads yet.

I don't consider alerting everyone that the vote was going on...since I was first to vote...is in anyway "spamming".

I cannot think of any good reasons either, but it still happens, it is a problem, and still needs to be dealt with.

That would be kinda funny...right before it closes everyone rushes in and switches votes to whoever has the least.

It's Florida all over again!

Yuppers, those are the guys who DESERVE to be elected.

Gatecrasher
David Tebb
~TONY~

That's who I voted for... 🙂

it's not about popularity, it's about trust.

what about the last vote?

more people "know" people than "trust" them.. you could for sure have trusting relationships with 3 of the people listed but i doubt all will

Perhaps it may be too little too late for me to get voted in, but I think I should still make an argument for myself.

You guys have to understand that having a high rating on this site doesn't mean anything if you can't prove you're a real player.

There have been cheating accusations around a couple of the high rated players applying for the mod team, which would automatically make me skeptical of them, but that's for you guys to decide.

Anyhow, !~Tony~!, Tebb, and Crasher are solid. Crasher seems to have, by far, the most experience when it comes to catching engine abusers.

As to the doubts about my ability to discern engine users from real players, I may not be as strong as those 3 I listed above, but I would certainly have some idea.

My biggest benefit has to be that I'm more strict and vocal than the other candidates. Honestly, I would prefer to have a ban first, ask questions later type of setup - although I doubt Russ would go for it. Honestly, some people are beyond blatant cheaters and allowing them to play on this site is just inane.

If you guys have any other questions about my credentials, see some of my other posts in Announcements in the original (now closed) thread.

What do you think this will do to their reputation?

Sound's like "Burn the Witches" to me.
