In some cases it is a way for women to transend in to being some glamour puss that we are usually force feed by barbie as little girls, in other cases it is a great way to hide our inadequacies, masking or feeling poerful because we have cover our natural identities..
It sounds like a shame if she couldn't feel she could have just been herself and all natural with you. Don't stress though most women do do this too. Usually in the case of where they want to make a good impression, so your probably in 😉
