Agree, makeup, dressing a particular way, breast implants, collagen injections, earings, tattoos, it's all the same thing in degrees of permanence. I like women who know what makes them look good and what fits with their character. I don't like sluts, but I like demur, sassy and sleek. I don't like slobs, but I like simple, realxed and casual. All sorts, as long as it works.

I think some women use that stuff so they can mark their territory like a dog whizzes on a fire hydrant. See that lipstick on his collar that's mine. "Said she".😠

HI ROOM.

IT'S FINE FOR WOMEN TO WEAR MAKEUP, SMELL NICE AND WEAR SHORT, TIGHT SKIRTS THAT SHOW OFF THEIR ASS. THANK YOU.
Im sure there is something out there for everyone, there are women who don't do anything and have a great glow about them, there are some that need a little help and wear it, which ever it be that you like natural or made up there are so many women choose from.

Don't get too hung up on the make up issue, it's more important what is on the inside and on their brains.

Go ahead and use all that and sit and wonder why you're alone and grey.

The fact is that women use makeup because they buy into Hollywood and society's claim that if they're not beautiful, they're nobody.

Plus, they want to be atttractive and believe me, there's a lot of competition out there.

It's also thousands of years of societal imprinting. If guys (I mean the majority) didn't like it, women would drop it like a hot rock tomorrow. Do you think we enjoy taking 3 times as long as men (conservative estimate) to get ready? Tweezing eyebrows, all the skin treatments, the torture devices known as high heels (although I admit, I've gotten to like them), shaving the pits and legs, the p-i-t-a of nylons... trust me, we probably wouldn't do it if it didn't make the guys drool... 🙂

Are we really so shallow? I'd like to think not.

I hate to shatter your illusions, but yes, most are.

(Notice I said most, not all.)

*You* try being a reasonably attractive woman and walk down the street in any major city these days, and see if you don't get all kinds of comments, most of them rude (or just cheesy come-ons).

And it's even worse online, most of the time. Guys seem to think anonymity grants them licenses to be pigs. All that matters to most guys is your pic (and *always*, the dirtier the better), and even then, if you're even a little beautiful, they claim it's not you. Ingrates.

Beauty talks and intelligence walks. That's how it seems to be these days, sad to say.

Do you feel women in general fare any better in the shallowness department?

I think you are right. But as you said not all.Perhaps it's a stage? With maturity comes a different view.I remember, when I was younger, that I too "oggled" women and saw only the dust jacket. It soon becomes tattered and torn but the content of the book stays the same.

If we're speaking in general terms, then I think yes. Face it, the hormone responsible for perpetuating the species is testosterone. Did you know that it is actually circulating levels of testosterone that regulates sex drive in women as well as men? Obviously, men have way higher levels of testosterone, so I think that's what causes them to always be up for it (pardon the pun).

Women in general are always more open to talking about your life and what happened to you yesterday, etc. Men in general are always more interested in chatting you up, and ogling your body.

Again, I say "in general". There are always exceptions. Of course there are women who can be just as shallow as guys, and yes, I think this is generally a maturity issue, as well as a hormonal issue.
