Google Earth question

I've been using this software for a few years and occasionally they install an upgrade. This has not been a problem in the past, but recently there was an upgrade to version 4.2 beta.

I'm not sure just what was added to this upgrade, but one thing was an option to look at stars, constellations, etc. (google sky).

Upon installing this upgrade my screen image is very erratic and full of lines that have nothing to do with whatever image I am trying to look at. I am considering trying to find and install an older version of this software and see if that solves the problem.

I use an HP pavilion laptop so the monitor isn't exactly the best, but it has always worked well up until now. It still works just fine with whatever else I am running and the multitude of lines only show up when trying to use google earth.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

If Google Earth is mainstream freeware I do not want to think what CIA or organizations so has to watch and spy people. Man, I suddenly feel watched 😲
