7. Daddy Bubba, doing the long side of 15 years in the state pen at LaFayette, was angry again, this time at Little Joe Bob, the scrawny tatooed punk from Nawlins who had sat in front of him during the olympic gymnastics trials and kept yelling, "Hey Y'all, look at the gams on that l'il one!"

10. JJ Krewling's diminutive wife. Katy, was an avid reader and aspiring author who also dabbled in chess, because

she enjoyed the changing terrain and the counterpoint. Her journal entry just last night read, "Tomorrow is such

a very long time ago, while yesterday is still so distant future in our memories." JJ's passion was bass fishing.

11. Katy's journal weighed heavily on her lap, her pen burning her fingers. Should she REALLY write what was in her heart? How COULD she? Alas, staying true to her spirit, she bit her lip and wrote her deepest thoughts.

11. And as such wondered if when Alley and Bertha had had their fill if maybe just maybe he might be, safely, able to toss his hook and sinker into the pond in hopes of , perchance, snagging a 4-5 pounder. He closed his eyes and envisioned, in his minds eye, the bass slicing through the murky waters and clamping onto the wormed hook he had dropped into the pond from the "left bank".

12. June 29, 2008. RHP game 956732486. I am caught in a swirl of conflict. My opponent, some faceless creature from a place I can't be sure of is trying to mate me. Each move is an enticement. He offers gifts, then allows me a little space, then tries to capture me, each time with smooth endearing words. I feel so conflicted, as I play along, seemingly stepping in to his little traps, taking the small gift he proffers, and appearing to go down the path toward being captured and mated by him. Alas, he has no idea what fate shall befall him within the hour at hand.

a watchful mom and a daddy on vacation and tomorrow... what would it bring?

14. Hank and Chuck were as alike as they were different. Hank had begun to learn the names of the chess pieces and how they were able

to move. He also liked blueberries but not too many vegetables. Chuck always ate his vegetables first and liked to talk about what

good workers small ants are and how the happy fish swim all day long and don't even own clothing. They both liked hot dogs and beans.

15. Doyle was setting the trap for the unsuspecting opponent, some supposed married woman, some wife of a corrections officer. He would play his favorite against newbies . . the King's Gambit. She claims to be 31 years old and very pretty. Chestnut hair and coconut treasures framed on an hourglass half full. eager and chatty, bright and engaging, she will make easy prey for him, he is so sure. Look how she snaps up the pawn and keeps marching forward, step by step into his lair. come to me, my darling, come.

16. "how does your husband treat you?" asks Doyle, pretending to be interested, never actually believing that he is really playing a very pretty and intensely sensual wife of a corrections officer who watches over prisoners on death row.

19. By the way, almost forgot to tell you, both Bertha and Alley loved to learn and discover and understand new things. Both also graduated

with high honors from Croc U. All these years later, they still wear their two tone green T-Shirts (Size XXXXXXXXX Long) that say, "Go Gators"

on the back with a bright yellow big teeth smiley face on the front side, whenever they feel like dreaming backwards on lazy summer days.

Editor's Footnote (For RHP Reader Eyes Only, Not For The Children's):

Doyle was prounced brain dead, by the county coroner in the prison infirmary just before midnight, the evening of his presumptous skirt

chasing gambit with the correction officer's dear wife of sixteen years. Cause of death was duly noted as fatal cranial hemorrhage, as the

consequence of Daddy Bubba's deft thrust of a rusty spike (crafted from a mattress coil) into the lecherous slit of his ever lovin left eye.

(Doyle, you've served us well in our RHP Novel and Short Story but you have finally overstepped your reasonable bounds. Rest in Peace.)
