Chapter Seven... Eternity Future
Lines 105-

105. "In our beginning is our end and in our end is our beginning" so wrote T.S. Eliot. Albert Camus offered, "Autumn is the second spring,

when every leaf is a flower." And so our concluding chapter now examines the prospects of 'non-time' and the destiny of the human soul.

As Radcliff had gotten employment at NASA on a new experimental rocket, his girl Sally went into astronaut training and won the pilot's seat, she had undertaken thousands of hours training in the YF 71, Radcliff helped her to the hatch, and as she got inside, he said with tear filled eyes, "Ride, Sally, Ride!"

107. As the hatch closed he thought, only for a fleeting moment, he saw "something". When back at mission control he watched as the rocket lifted gracefully into the cloudless, blue sky wishing that he too could have been on this flight. In a moment he would be glad that he wasn't.

108. A temperature monitor gave an error reading on the queenside. Apparently a harmless pawn move had been made. No damage could be done by such a small maneuver.

109. But Sally wasn't taking any chances she consulted with Fritz, knowing full well that, were she caught, she'd be jetisoned from the spacecraft....no questions asked.

110. Fritz was calculating when ground control asked for a status report. She quickly hid the screen and reported the aberrant temperature reading.

111. Russel, (you can call me Russ) the head of ground control, noted an anomoly in another sector of the computer readouts showing the possibility of some unusual and illegal goings on. He advised Christopher (you can call me Chris) to keep an eye on Sallys inputs. He hated to think that what he suspected was possible , considering his long standing admiration for her abilities but he had to put that aside and do what "needed" to be done.

111. Was it possible, thought Russ, that someone was using an "engine" to make moves? He pondered the reports from his Mods and realized that the last six moves made by the crew were matching perfectly with the ground computers. He would abort the mission and award a default win to Black. Still, he had to be sure. The question remained, was Fritz about to be outed, or would Fritz prove, once again, to be far ahead of the merely human players in the match?

113. Doyle, sitting at his computer, linked to Challenger, exchanging PMs with Sally, scratched his head with a scowl. Something had to be done right away, he realized, as it appeared certain that they (RHP) was on to them. He keyed in the coded message, "Check their King."

114. Sheila walked back from break noticing the palpable tension in the control room. She stopped by Doyle's screen and realized something must be terribly wrong when he didn't respond to her with his subtle, almost imperceptible, flirts.

115. It only took her a moment to see that 112. was missing and that there were two 111 entries. "Is the queenside vulnerable?," she asked. Doyle just groaned and grabbed two Tums from his drawer.

116. Russ was becoming more concerned by the moment. Had RHP been hacked? Did the breach extend beyond the current match? Maybe there was a problem with leadership in the metallica section?

117. Sheila put it all together. Doyle was colluding with Sally! Damn. MEN! She was seething in a private rage of jealousy. Her Venti Latte rippling from the tension in her grip, she sat down at her station and sent a PM to Ben. Doyle is making moves. Russ is onto the game. Make a quick diversion attack right now in the D4 sector!

118. Ben's move, D4, was seen as just for what it was, a hollow gambit. The Dark King ordered his cavalry to attack. Spare no lives. Capture the White King!

119. The Dark King, gazing over the limpopo, studied the carnage as the white knight, sir poke-a-lot, aka Ken, charged the poor peasants and took out Shadrak, impaling him mercilessly.
