60. Doyle's blood curdled as he heard the Auditor's screams. Somehow, even in his drugged reverie, he knew that he was "next" and that he would be forced to "talk." He tried to move but his body was frozen by the drugs. It was hopeless. He would be forced to reveal everything.

61. Through the drug haze, he remembered that he had been fitted with a cyanide capsule in a hollowed-out tooth. All he had to do was bite down hard on it, and...he would avoid the ordeal to come. He had always thought that, if the occasion arose, he would bite down on the capsule without hesitation. Now that the moment was at hand, he wasn't so sure.

62. Meanwhile, the auditor continued to scream, and scream, and scream. Then his body slumped, and the screaming stopped.

'Bit of a wimp, wasn't he?' sneered Dr. Black. Mr. Amp nodded, and Nurse Meter silently agreed. She liked men who were made of sterner stuff. Men like Dr. Black, whom she secretly had a crush on.

64. Dr. Black shook his head thinking, "This can't be I know.....", Nurse Meter winked at Mr. Amp and he knew that in a moment Dr. Black, not Doyle, was next for the chair. She'd finally released the two of them from his psychotic grip but how'd she managed to do it? Like a bolt of lightening it struck him. 66. Sheila was out of breath, sweat pouring down her brow, her heart pounding rhythms to her brain. She leaned over the rail and felt as though she might heave, an ugly thought. Alas, she'd have a moment or two to try and collect her thoughts, any thoughts, some orientation to where she was, what she was doing. The sidewalk was filled with colorful characters hopping and skipping and skating. There were lions and tigers and bears, oh my.
