I had an American neighbour when Reagan was in charge and I mentioned to him once that I liked his President and he became apoplectic, I had to beat a hasty retreat. Gawd!

I lived through the Thatcher years and I can categorically say it was a disaster for "the ordinary bloke". She gets my vote as one of the worst people of the 20th century.
Reagen has a popular President and his popularity seems to have grown after he left office. Recently a phone in polling similiar to American Idol ranked him as the greatest American of all time.

In the finals he went up against Lincoln. Both sides had representatives there to make the case for their candidate.

To his credit, Ron Reagen Jr. had this to say, "I think Dad would have voted for Lincoln."

Ronnie won anyway.

US presidency is close to a low-quality western movie. Schwarzenegger for president!

Seriously though. The one and only, megastar hero of the 20th century has
got to be Linus Torvalds.

I just won't accept anyone else getting the trophy. I won't.

(And no, I'm not Anti-Semitic, just so that we're clear on that.)
Sorry but in the final analysis, Stalin killed more Jews

I think that we have gone far enough in tothis to announce the finalists for Greatest Figure of the 20th Century:

Nelson Mandela
Mahatma Ghandi
Martin Luther King Jr.
Mother Theresa
Albert Einstein
Winston Churchill

I think it's a great list and all worthy.

I vote for Mandela.

Mandala's ANC party had a football team. This "football team" was actually a gang that beat and killed black south africans.
