they say some of the most genius people get by on next to no sleep; if you look at some of the greats they did most of their incredible works or had the most brillent ideas from sleep depreivation...

also look at mothers who have very little sleep are able to function so well making lunches taking kids to school going to work then coming home to cook and clean... and in some amazing way also have time for their friends and hobbies such as chess...

2 - 3 - 1 = 6 per day average.
i'm old, i wake up and nap all day.

it's all one big day broken up by short sleeps. I rarely get that deep sleep that is the best sleep IMO anymore .. unless I get lucky.

Because you don't hear about all the great minds who have regular sleep patterns, you only hear about the interesting exceptions. Although Da Vinci's sleep patterns were interesting.

I really doubt lack of sleep caused there genius, I think it was just they found a lot to do and worked very hard.

8 plus hours most nights.

Sleep has a purpose, it helps your body heal and repair, making sure you have a life to live.

Plus, it helps you file away all the crap from the day, protecting your mental health.
