Hi there. Anyone around here knows the best way to get to Aberdeen from Helsinki?
The direct flights are quoted by thieves, so I was thinking someone here may know a place closer to Aberdeen to where I can fly and move from there. What's close to Aberdeen?

If you go to Edinburgh/Glasgow then book your train tickets as far in advance as possible as this will reduce price, also travel offpeak as well.
Virgin trains do returns from Edinburgh or Glasgow for between £20 and £73.
You also have inconvenience of the 3 hour train journey time on top of your flight time.
When you thinking about coming over? The granite city is only an hour away from me. You could easily buy me a drink or 10.

If Money's an issue, then you can go by http://www.megabus.com/.
Dead cheap, but takes about 4 hours.
If you fly via London Heathrow then there shouldn't be difference in price between Edinburgh/Glasgow and Aberdeen.
Also, there is a place called Dundee, which has the rather nice nickname of Scumdee which is about 1.25 hours from Aberdeen, doubt you'd get a cheap flight to there though.
