Yeah, when I was a kid and in the car when my parents were getting petrol I always used to open the window and sick my head out of the window to smell it.

Dad filling up at the petrol station made me feel sick as a child
and I still find it distasteful but I've known a good few who like it.
(I think they are the same ones that sniff pens!)
