The post that was quoted here has been removeddidn't spot that... the news article is on todays "most emailed" on the bbc website so I thought it was current.
Re: School places, when I was over there I read something in a newspaper about a imigrant family converting to catholicism so they could send their kid to school... must happen a fair bit I guess?
The post that was quoted here has been removedWe went through Kerry I think but 'twas Dublin we stayed in.
I shared a student house with a lovelly lady from County Arhmah (I expect I've spelt that wrong) years ago and I couldn't understand her family, with their accent when they'd phone.
Kerry and Cork can't be that different to Dublin are they?
The post that was quoted here has been removedIt seems that 3 of your 4 points only relate to Dublin (if then).
There are schools closing where I'm from due to lack of pupils. I have a 2 minute walk to work, and I'd say the average commute here is 15 minutes. There are plenty of affordable housing schemes available to young people wanting to get on the property ladder (http://www.dublincity.ie/living_in_the_city/your_home/housing_services/affordable_housing/)
And the rest of the country don't even see Dublin as part of Eire. 😉
