Here in Japan, there are some very weird ice cream flavours. Haagen Dazs make some of the strangest flavours I've ever tried (and most of them I couldn't finish more than a teaspoonful)... The list of flavours includes Green Tea, Royal Milk Tea, Rich Milk, Black Sesame, Adzuki Beans, Azuki Beans and Milk (??)...

However, the list of flavours no longer available in Japan includes Cookies and Creme, Strawberry Cheesecake, Vanilla Chocolate Brownie, Cassis and Creme, Mint Chocolate, in fact most of my favourites...

Anyway, my wife has started making ice cream at home, so I can soon have the flavours I want.

What's your favourite, or what strange flavours do they have where you are?

EDIT: Yes, they spell "cream" creme...

My favourite ice-cream in the world is the melon flavoured ice-cream they sell at Capri's in Rotterdam.

Generally straciattella is my favourite, or ice-cream with thick wads of toffee flowing through it.

The weirdest I've ever tasted would be in Utrecht, in the Netherlands.
There's a small ice-cream parlour close to the Grift park which serves bizarre flavours every month.
Orange with hot peppers was strange, but the garlic ice-cream would have to take the cake.

Cookie dough is the best, with butterscotch or caramel oozing over it.

I can imagine the orange and hot peppers, it sounds interesting; I've had chilli chocolate before and that was nice.

Ben & Jerry's just came out with a new creme brule flavor.

Best one so far.

That and "beef".

I've had lobster ice cream in Bar Harbor.

Actual lobster chunks in it.

Well, it's not really ice cream but I made this strawberry champagne sorbet one time that was pretty terrific.

Ice cream makes me cough, so I don't often eat it. I like the strawberry and frozen yoghurt though, I can have a small amount before the coughing starts. 😛
