I can never understand why my fiancè would actually spend time arranging them manually on her laptop...

Start - Run -> type in c:\documents and Settings\MYUSERNAME\desktop and hit enter.
With auto complete it only takes a couple keystrokes and I get access to all my desktopfiles just like any ordinary directory.
Of course I also Start -> Run -> iexplore www.chessatwork.com
or
Start -> Run -> firefox www.chessatwork.com
if I want to open a website. I don't even know where the icons for those browsers are on my computer....

Whoa! I never knew the autocomplete works in the Run dialog too. Sweet.
Most common apps you don't even have to type in the full path.
Common ones from my Run dialog history:
Start -> Run -> winword PATHTOFILE
Start -> Run -> excel PATHTOFILE
Start -> Run -> notepad PATHTOFILE
Thats how I open up any directory I want to view as well.
I guess my years as a unix admin --oh so many moons ago -- had an effect on my mouse-usage. ie: I don't use it. Ok, enough "geek talk" for now.

I have just deleted my unused icons, including the adobe one (i thought that was a dance, but anyhoo...), and now i only have 13 icons on my PC display screen.
How many icons do you have ? Am i grossly underutilising my computer, or what ?
