You're right, it was.

Let me clarify: we'd probably lose at rugby, but woul easily dominate at American Football.
Perhaps that's because no one understands the rules of American Football. I've watched for a number of years now and I still don't understand the eligible receiver stuff.

Also the rules I do understand don't make very much sense. I mean why the hell can't you play your 3rd string QB unless there are injuries?

You can play your 3rd stringer anytime you feel like it. It happens all of the time.

As far as the ineligible receiver, it's basically Offensive Lineman aren't eligible to catch the ball, except for tight ends.

Have to admit, it does look a remarkably dull game.

Not if he is designated the 3rd string quarterback you can't. If he is then if he plays before the 4th quarter your 1st and 2nd string QBs cannot return to the game.
(Little different from how I recalled but even more convoluted)

Great highlights, though.

I cme back from a party once and turned on the tv to find a game on. Gave it half an hour before I gave up - 3-5 second bursts in between minute long breaks ...

Bit like cricket, I guess. 😀

The U.S. is capable of stepping out of their comfort zone and competing around the world at soccer.

Why can't the rest of the world compete at American Football?

Sissies?
Because American football sucks! It's almost as bad a basketball.

What?! Teams use 2 and 3 QB rotations without consequence.

Looks like somebody doesn't know the rules.

We had this American kid at our school and whenever we played rugby, he would keep throwing the ball forward and give away penalties - he was the biggest kid in the school so we couldn't even bully him for it. 😕

He was huge - no one wanted to be the first to start on him.
He was actually quite ok, apart from that. His cricket playing was also pathetic - haha. 😀

Ps; so was mine.

Soccer is not dull. And I've played football before. Its really not all that fun as soccer is. When you scream at your team to kill the other one... you got to admit, thats not really fun at all. What happened to all the other great sports....
