I'm the leader of the Ireland Clan and I will point all of the members towards this thread... it might generate a bit more interest.
Nice one derbrad, I suppose the next questions are where and when? we'll wait though and try to pick somewhere convenient to all that are interested.

Personally I am unavailable until the end of September. I'm living in Dublin at the moment... its probably the best location for accomodation, venue, airport, port... etc... especially if some of the guys from across the Sea wanna drop over for a pint or 2. I'd be happy to help out with arranging accomodation for people, and a venue... depends on how many people can commit to it really

Yeah dublin would be the easiest for the majority i think, as for the timing it wouldn't bother me that much but end of sept sounds good and gives everyone plenty of notice for travel etc.

Woohoo, I knew the free beer thing would work.

Thanks derbrad for messaging your clan, now why didn't i think of that in the first place. I have a mate or two in Dub so i'll be ok for accomodation etc. It does mean i'll have to brave the railway though😲

I'm also a emigre, but would like to meet up at Xmas.

What about Wednesday 27th, a day less busy and less associated with family obligations? And somewhere in Dublin, which would probably be the most central?

I offer the buy the first round for everyone who attends (subject to plausibility constraints!).

I reckon a meet at christmas will be cool, I just want one sooner, as I said we can have more than one... Any more takers?

Ideas up to now:-

Dublin, late september, loads of drink. Oh...and some chess.

Thanks Trev, but if you recieved a PM out of the blue requesting a meetup wouldn't you just think 'weirdo internet perv, run away, run away.' plus I can't guage who would be good fun or wouldn't. I guess anyone who likes beer and chess is welcome so i made it an open offer.

Beer and Chess everyone, First round on me!

probably Dublin, End of September(ish)
