A couple of years ago i went to Spain with a friend to stay at his house out there. He bought the house next door to his mum. When we arrived she showed me some photo's of the building work being done (it had completed about 2 years earlier). I flicked through the photo's, not paying too much attention to them as they were te so far instantly says 'become a police officer' but that's out of the question....
but I can't remember people's names, not even if remembering was what it took to get into the sack with a hot girl. I won't remember it in the morning either. I have some pretty embarrassing stories about that one... I combat the thing by trying to repeat the names in my head for the first five minutes or so, but it's still 50-50 I remember them after a couple of hours.

Music as well, i've always had a natural affinity for instruments. I can pick up a guitar and just play it, it's almost like listening to someone else, it just comes out. My school used to give recorder lessons in music class. We were set some homework over the weekend once, to learn this basic piece of music. Come Monday morning i hadn't practised at all and i'd left my music book at home. We had to recite this piece one by one during this class and, to my surprise, i managed to play it nearly perfectly from just listening to the kids who went before me. It wasn't very complicated (it was designed for 8-10 year old kids) but it was the first time i realised that music came naturally to me...

about letters and numbers, I seem to have some kind of a mild dyslexia. at some point I realized math was pretty easy for me when it was about numbers, but put the same problem in writing and I have problems to even extract what is asked. I think I have overcome that with simply focusing more than the others, so it never surfaced as a problem. I've always done very well in school with little to no effort. I guess it all might also be connected with my inability to remember names well.
I do learn languages quite easily though, memorizing words was never hard for me. especially long lists or strings of text. I think the brain must process names associated with faces somehow differently...
