The Tibetan people, through their spiritual leader the Dalai Lama are seeking peaceful methods of redress? congratulations to them on not setting off a new cycle of violence.
You reap just what you sow.
reap what we sow? when is the West going to reap what it has sown in the form of aid, both governmental and private, which runs into billions and billions? Prosperous Western countries including the UK each year take in thousands and thousands of people from Africa, Asia and the Middle East, allow them to become citizens in time - they can vote, get unemployment benefits etc - it is forbidden by law to discriminate against them, governmental pamphlets are multilingual, and so on and on. every time there is a disaster in one of these places, it is the West that chips in with relief aid, donated by governments and private citizens alike. And now African countries are going to have their debt cancelled. When do we get a word of thanks for all this, instead of all the bs rhetoric about the evil imperialistic West?
sh*t, it isn't as if Iraq didn't fight a 9 year war against Iran, or invade Kuwait, or the whole area wasn't under the sway of the Turkish Ottoman empire for so many years, or the whole of North Africa wasn't forcibly made Islamic by invading Moors. There were also Islamic invasions of north India. Pakistan and India have fought 3 wars since they separated, yet i don't see anyone flying 747s into the Taj Mahal. (im assuming it was some Islamic group behind the London bombings - seems reasonable given the events of the past few years and the fact some are already claiming responsibility)
No, these acts were perpetrated against Western targets simply because the West is the most successful prosperous culture on the planet and that just grates with some people.
All is bs about 'the West had it coming' is just that - bs. sure, Osama rationises about having seen a building bombed in Beirut, but if it had been that he would have found some other pretext.

Yes, but never forget who armed and trained Osama; The CIA!
I don't necessarily agree that we should have helped Saddam fight the Ayatollah, but at the time the US and Iran were at serious odds...
But my point is that every time one of us anti-terrorists posters condemn the atrocities of these cretins, people like you always come back with the tired "Well, America armed and trained them!" Can't you come up with something more original?🙄

You, and other slike you, always come back with that old saying: "Well, Uncle Sam arnmed and trained the terrorists, so what do you expect". That makes about as much sense as a one-legged man in an @ss-kicking contest...so, shame on you, and you know what you can do with "Billy-Bob"....
Ha an American calling me Ignorant. Hilarious. At leats i have some clue of what happens outside of America.
It's funny how Americans always use the same excuse when someone speaks out against what they have done. London Pride - Noel Coward (written during the Blitz)
London Pride has been handed down to us.
London Pride is a flower that's free.
London Pride means our own dear town to us,
And our pride it for ever will be.
Woa, Liza,
See the coster barrows,
Vegetable marrows
And the fruit piled high.
Woa, Liza,
Little London sparrows,
Covent Garden Market where the costers cry.
Cockney feet
Mark the beat of history.
Every street
Pins a memory down.
Nothing ever can quite replace
The grace of London Town.
INTERLUDE
There's a little city flower every spring unfailing
Growing in the crevices by some London railing,
Though it has a Latin name, in town and country-side
We in England call it London Pride.
London Pride has been handed down to us.
London Pride is a flower that's free.
London Pride means our own dear town to us,
And our pride it for ever will be.
Hey, lady,
When the day is dawning
See the policeman yawning
On his lonely beat.
Gay lady,
Mayfair in the morning,
Hear your footsteps echo in the empty street.
Early rain
And the pavement's glistening.
All Park Lane
In a shimmering gown.
Nothing ever could break or harm
The charm of London Town.
INTERLUDE
In our city darkened now, street and square and crescent,
We can feel our living past in our shadowed present,
Ghosts beside our starlit Thames
Who lived and loved and died
Keep throughout the ages London Pride.
London Pride has been handed down to us.
London Pride is a flower that's free.
London Pride means our own dear town to us,
And our pride it for ever will be.
Grey city
Stubbornly implanted,
Taken so for granted
For a thousand years.
Stay, city,
Smokily enchanted,
Cradle of our memories and hopes and fears.
Every Blitz
Your resistance
Toughening,
From the Ritz
To the Anchor and Crown,
Nothing ever could override
The pride of London Town.

Tony Blair is no more in comtrol than you or I. He just turns up for work and says yes boss no boss. Perhaps.
Makes you wonder... are we all just a bunch of slaves to world governments? Is it possible that if there is no war that the governments create them!?

COBRA's battle plan seems to be to scare us witless.
Here in the City, they cordoned off one area for an hour after seeing a suspicious package, and they are about to perfom a "controlled explosion" on another suspicious package near the Cannon Street train station.
A running joke L ...[text shortened]...
There will be several incidents like this over the next few days.
I'm hearing sirens all the time and roads are being blocked off in central London. We were told of an 'incident" at the East end of the tube line travelling back on the underground (most of it is open - only the worst affected bits are shut) but if anything had actually happenned it'd be all over the news websites by now.
Ordinary people I've talked to know whose fault it is, why and why yesterday's attrocity happenned and aren't changing anything about their lives in response to the bombings - other than maybe hating Blair a bit more. But what we have here and now is the state starting a nasty racist scaremongering campaign in an attempt to make us accept the things they like doing.
