Do they really think that they can terrorise us into submission?
Do they think that we will simply give in?
As Winston Churchill said in a somewhat different context, "What kind of people do they think we are? Is it possible they do not realise that we shall never cease to perservere against them...?"

😠
Anyone can put a bomb on a bus; be it Bagdad, Jeruselum or London but what do they achieve:

They make people apprieciate the little things in life that they so often take for granted.
They bring out a sense of community and common cause in those they threaten.
They just bind their enemy together.

Out of adversity there are always so many positives.

Hi everyone, you'll be pleased to know I'm alright and so are all my friends and colleagues. Thanks to all of you for your support and well wishes. It's funny actually, while I was on the underground this morning, I wasn't thinking 'Am I safe? Should I stay at home? What if there's another attack?' no, I was thinking 'I must get into work so I ca ...[text shortened]... rrorists and will always persevere to maintain our way of life, no matter what they throw at us.
Good on you Starrman
We all enjoy your company in here...

My family in London are going ahead various party plans for the weekend.. not one person pulled out. (mostly for the final Lions Test). My parents and all the Aunties and Uncles were war children. Though the bad feelings are there, they grit the teeth and keep the spirits up.

Lol Thinking of getting back to normality; got that PC fixed yet? Hurry up and the new faces up.. no slacking or Nyxie might slap you.. 😛😀

I tried to install some audio software and I think I deleted a vital system .dll file. Then in opening it up to see what the problem was, I may have inadvertantly damaged the motherboard whilst trying to wrestle my cat's claws from my back. I have since microwaved the little sh;t.

Here in the City, they cordoned off one area for an hour after seeing a suspicious package, and they are about to perfom a "controlled explosion" on another suspicious package near the Cannon Street train station.

A running joke Londoners had years ago when the IRA was running amok was that some bloody idiot left their shopping behind again....

There will be several incidents like this over the next few days.

It is my understanding that major cities and major locations (such as international airports) have these incidents all the time anyway i.e. bomb scares, suspect packages, etc.

This is true, these situations happen frequently in major cities, but there is usually some threshhold that the police use so that they don't go after every suspicious item and waste manpower.

In this case, the police are taking no chances at all. After an incident like this, ANYTHING that looks a bit dodgy will be investigated. This will be a NO TOLERANCE zone for the next few weeks.
