Having spent most of the day in shock, my mood is shifting to one of relief.
Firstly it is selfish but my loved ones are safe.
Secondly, it could have been so much worse.
Thirdly these people are unlikely to return in the near future.
As well as being relieved. I'm proud - proud of the emergencey services, proud of how everyone reacted, proud to be British

I havent read this whole thread (got this from the rec posts), but we dont need empathy for these savage b*****d's, this isnt a jihad or fighting for your rights, this is pure murder, with no regard for age, race, creed, sex or religion of their victims. The culprits should be rounded up and executed.
I never said we should have empathy with the perpetrators of these atrocities in London. I said we should empathise with all VICTIMS of terror, whether they're white, yellow or brown, Western or Middle Eastern. Whether they are the VICTIMS of state sponsored terror or terrorist groups like Al Qaeda. Without empathy this circle of voilence will never end.

They will grow up hating and angry, like you said, and perpetuate the ill feeling. This has been going on for thousands of years and I can't see it stopping. Not now nor in the forseable future.

I'd like to point out that, although it is not the same, the casualties are not much higher than in the Paddington rail crash. I think that the rescue and medical services did their jobs admirably, but they've coped with accidents on a similar scale before. It really is ridiculous that COBRA should get any credit - all they've done is order police to drive round with their sirens wailing in a pointless fashion to keep us all scared so that the government can force through yet more repressive legislation. So far we've lost the right to silence, double jeopardy, habeas corpus and they are driving through compulosry and expensive ID cards - it'll cost £100 to us to get them. Next they'll probably reverse the burden of proof in criminal trials so as to "protect us from terrorists".

But I for one, know that Ragnorak met no disrespect in his posts. So let's not quibble amongst ourselves - we need to unite in this dire time of need.
So that's all right then because we expected it!!!
Many innocent people got killed today and that probably practiced many different faiths and included many differrent nationalities.
Londoners were great today and I am proud to be one of them. The calm manner in which we dealt with the crisis was fantastic. We have been used to IRA threats for years and are very resilient.
What a contrast to yesterday!!!

Lets face it, only the stupid are breeding...
My thoughts go out to all British, including my best mate in London who i still havent heard from.
And i point the finger fairly and squarely on George bush. I do not care what anyone posts or replys to this, you cannot sway my opinion. I say with conviction, that these deaths are on George Bush's fat ignorant and money hungry head.
I hope Bush is proud that he has made this world a terrible and unsafe place to live. None of this would of happened if they would just kept their dirty hands out of the Middle East. After all, its not about spreading democracy, it all about money.
